Outside the Box was commissioned by the Museum at Eldridge Street to re-design and develop their website with an updated “look and feel” and additional functionality to enhance the user experience. Some highlights include:
Besides offering Museum hours, admission and tour information, individuals, groups and schools can book a tour directly from the site. The site uses Google Translate so international tourists from all over the world will be able to read and use the site in their native language. You can even translate the site into Yiddish! Also highlighted is the availability of printed self-guided tours available in ten different languages.
National and international visitors will be able to use the new Area Guide that provides a map of other highlights in the area, including Jewish sites, Immigrant History sites, Art & Architecture, and Food places.
The Events section allows program attendees a much easier time finding and booking their tickets. You can see events in a list form and a month form, and book with just one click. Families have a page dedicated to them where they can find kid-friendly events and download the Family Guide.
You can also visit the Collections page to learn more about the Eldridge Street Synagogue, the Lower East Side, and Jewish practice.
Teachers and students will love the new Education section which provides an interactive map of the Lower East Side and pre- and post visit materials along with other Educator resources.
